The site that put Coron on the Philippine birdwatching map, Capayas Creek is where most birding tours in the Calamianes begin. Located in the foothills of the town's watershed, it is easily accessible from many hotels yet feels a world away due to its quiet forest setting.

Novice explorers, wildlife photographers, and serious birders alike get treated to almost guaranteed appearances by the winged residents of this preserve.

Here are our favorite Capayas Creek species, which include the famous "Three Kings"-- the Rufous Backed KF, Blue Eared KF, and Ruddy KF:
